• 8oz package of sliced FunGuy white button mushrooms
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil, divided
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 French baguette

Let the FunGuy show you how to make a crispy, crunchy delicious appetizer or side dish with less than five ingredients! That’s right, only five!

All you need are some pantry essentials like onions, salt and olive oil and the most essential of all essentials, fresh sliced FunGuy mushrooms! Throw ’em into a pan and toast up slices of fresh baguette to make a yummy dish.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a saute pan over medium-high. Saute onions in the pan for 5 minutes or until brown around the edges.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and add another tablespoon olive oil. Toss sliced FunGuy mushrooms into the pan in a single layer and saute 3-5 minutes. Add in the rest of the olive oil and stir mushrooms and onions together, allowing them to cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. While the mushrooms and onions cook, slice the baguette on a cutting board in ½ inch thick slices.
  4. Season mushrooms and onions with salt and remove from the heat.
  5. Heat a grill pan on high and lay each bread slice on the grill, cut side down. Allow to toast 3-5 minutes or until grill marks just start to form. Turn each bread slice over and toast the other side for 1 ½ to 2 minutes.
  6. Remove the toasted bread from the pan and serve immediately with the warm mushroom and onion mixture on top.
