- Ingredients:
- 10oz packages of FunGuy Mushroom Stuffers
- 1 3.5 oz ball of mozzarella
- ½ cup bolognese sauce (or marinara sauce)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- fresh basil leaves, chopped
Was pasta (or pizza!) night extra saucy this week? By that we mean: was there an abundance of rich meaty tomato bolognese or marinara sauce leftover and nothing to add it to? Then try our melty mozzarella and bolognese filled and Parmesan topped FunGuy mushroom stuffers!
Gooey melted mozzarella stuffed into our FunGuy stuffers and then topped with the Italian style tomato sauce and good sprinkling of salty Parmesan make a quick, easy, and delicious appetizer or snack!
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Brush off any debris from the FunGuy mushrooms with a damp cloth. Pop out the stem using your thumb and discard. Place the mushrooms, hole side up, on the baking sheet.
- Divide the mozzarella into 6-10 pieces or however many mushroom stuffers you have, and place a chunk of mozzarella into each mushroom cap. Spoon the bolognese sauce into each mushroom so it fills the mushroom cap and covers the mozzarella but doesn’t overflow. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top of each mushroom.
- Transfer the filled mushroom stuffers into the oven to cook about 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the mushrooms are tender.
- Remove the mushrooms from the oven, allow them to cool 5 minutes, and add chopped basil leaves on top before serving.
