• INGREDIENTS:
  • 8 ounces Fun Guy mushrooms, sliced 1/8th inch thick
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (crushed red pepper)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Hieroglyphics found in the tombs of the Pharaohs suggest that the ancient Egyptians believed the mushroom to be “the plant of immortality.” The distinct flavor of mushrooms so intoxicated these demi-gods, that fungi was decreed to be food for royalty alone, and prohibited any commoner from handling the delicacies.

Well today, we all WOK like an Egyptian!! ♪ ♫

Here’s a mushroom recipe to spice it up. Just add vinaigrette and some chili flakes to sliced Fun Guy mushrooms and you have a quick appetizer with a kick.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a small bowl mix oil, vinegar, oregano, chili flakes and salt. Whisk until combined.
  2. Place mushrooms in a medium bowl.
  3. Pour mixture over mushroom and stir to coat.
  4. Let mushrooms sit for 1 hour in the refrigerator or overnight.
  5. Serve with Sliced baguette.
