• Ingredients:
  • 8oz package of whole FunGuy white button mushrooms
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • ½ inch piece ginger root
  • 2 scallions
  • 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 2 ½ teaspoons soy sauce

These grilled mushroom skewers are must when a craving for sweet and spicy hits!

Simply marinate our FunGuy mushrooms in a mixture of sweet chili sauce, a bit of garlic, and ginger. Fire up the grill while those mushrooms soak up that thick sticky sauce and they’ll be ready before you can say “Sweet Chili garlic FunGuy Mushroom Skewers”!

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Brush off any debris from the FunGuy mushrooms with a damp cloth. Trim the stems and cut the mushrooms into ½ inch thick slices. Peel and mince the garlic and ginger. Trim the root ends off of the scallions and slice them in thin rounds. 
  2. Transfer the garlic and ginger to a large bowl and add in the sweet chili sauce and soy sauce and whisk well. Add the mushrooms to the bowl and toss well to coat. Cover and place them in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 15 minutes. 
  3. Preheat the grill on high or start the coals outside while waiting for the mushrooms to marinate 
  4. Once the mushrooms are ready, slide them onto skewers, careful to not overcrowd. 
  5. When the grill is hot, place the assembled skewers over the heat, turning frequently for 5-8 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender with grill marks. Remove the skewers from the grill and allow to cool a couple of minutes before serving with the sliced scallions on top!
